In a heartfelt celebration of faith and creativity, the Voices of Gospel Music Awards (VOGMA) is set to commemorate a significant milestone: ten years of honoring and uplifting independent Gospel artists. Mark your calendars for May 29-31, 2025, as the event plans to host “The Artists Celebration” in Mobile, Alabama, where the spirit of Gospel music will come alive.

What began as a humble gathering in a local coffee shop in Mobile in 2016 has morphed into an internationally recognized event, attracting Gospel talent from across the globe. “We are honored to be able to recognize, appreciate, and honor such great independent Gospel artists from around the country and world,” said Pastor Gary Johnson, CEO and Founder of VOGMA. “We take pride in these few days that we set aside to bring attention to those that are serving the independent Gospel music industry.”

Over the last decade, VOGMA has witnessed an impressive influx of artists traveling to Mobile from diverse locations such as the Dominican Republic, the Bahamas, Canada, and Trinidad. Each year, the awards celebration has created a unique platform for independent artists to showcase their talent and gain well-deserved recognition for their contributions to the Gospel music scene.

The VOGMA experience extends beyond the performances and awards; it also honors pastors and community leaders who have dedicated themselves to uplifting their communities through the power of music and faith. The upcoming event promises to build on this legacy, fostering an environment of joy, praise, and fellowship.

As the countdown to the tenth-anniversary celebration begins, the VOGMA staff is busy crafting a memorable experience that brings together artists, fans, and community members. With all events taking place in one convenient location in Mobile, attendees can look forward to a weekend filled with inspiration and camaraderie.

To ensure that independent artists receive the recognition they deserve, VOGMA is encouraging participants to submit their nominations before the December 1 deadline. Additionally, those attending the event are urged to reserve accommodations at the host hotel, where discounted rates will be available.

“It’s not easy planning such an event, and we want independent artists to be appreciated for their hard work,” Johnson added, emphasizing the dedication and meticulous planning that goes into making VOGMA a success.

As the Voices of Gospel Music Awards prepares to celebrate a decade of service, the 2025 event promises to be a landmark occasion for artists and fans alike. This gathering will not only encapsulate the rich history of VOGMA but will also set the stage for continued growth and recognition of the independent Gospel music movement.

Mobile, Alabama - The Voices of Gospel Music Awards (VOGMA) marked its 9th anniversary in style over the weekend, bringing together talented independent gospel music artists and their supporters from across the country. The event, held annually the weekend after Labor Day, has grown to become a significant celebration within the gospel music community, recognizing the contributions of independent artists who often operate outside the mainstream industry spotlight.

The celebration was a heartfelt homage to the nominees, many of whom traveled considerable distances to participate in this year’s festivities. Chairman and Founder Pastor Gary Johnson expressed his gratitude to all nominees, emphasizing that every participant is a winner in their own right. “Every nominee is a winner, regardless if their name is called,” he told the audience, strengthening the spirit of camaraderie and support among attendees.

Some of the top winners of the 9th Year Ceremony was gospel artists such as Darius Darling, Trey Williams, Living Testimony Community Singers, EJ The Mimer, and Trinity 1 Sound, just to name a few.

During the ceremony, Pastor Johnson announced a change to the traditional timing of the event, which will now be celebrated in May instead of September. This shift aims to enhance participation and impact within the gospel music community. “I want it to be great and want more people to participate and be part of our celebration. In 2025, we are planning a celebration the artist way,” Johnson stated, setting the stage for the forthcoming milestones.

The 2025 Voices of Gospel Music Awards will signal a decade of service to independent gospel artists, with the event scheduled to take place from May 29 to 31, 2025. Nominations for this grand celebration will open on October 1, 2024. “We want all independent gospel artists to get in on this celebration, participate, and be part of a ceremony and event that honors them,” Pastor Johnson encouraged.

As excitement builds for the milestone occasion, the Voices of Gospel Music Awards has introduced a new logo, alongside a special logo commemorating the 10th anniversary. The organization’s website has also received a fresh look, reflecting its commitment to evolve and engage more effectively with the gospel music community.

The 9th Annual VOGMA was not just an awards ceremony; it was a testament to the resilience and creativity of independent gospel artists who pour their hearts into their music.
